KUALA LUMPUR: The Human Resources Ministry has unveiled a new national initiative, Progressive Acceleration for Capability and Employability (Pace), backed by an allocation of RM100mil to strengthen human capital development and enhance workforce employability.
Human Resources Minister R. Ramanan said the programme will be implemented by the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) and will feature 10 key programmes.
He explained that the Pace initiative will focus on multiple sectors, including Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), youth talent development, digital economy transformation, support for local enterprises, regional development, gig workers, and inclusive community growth.
“Pace is a major investment in the future workforce,” he said in an official statement on Sunday (May 17).
The initiative has also received backing from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening the country’s talent ecosystem.
Ramanan added that the ministry expects Pace to position Malaysia as a stronger regional hub for skilled talent, while improving employment opportunities and workforce readiness in line with evolving economic demands.
