Surrender Stray Dogs Alive, Citizens Eligible to Receive RM50 – MBS

SEREMBAN: Seremban City Council (MBS) invites the public to participate in the Voluntary Stray Dog Surrender Incentive Programme 2026 as a continuous effort to control the stray dog population in this district.

Seremban City Council Mayor, Datuk Masri Baharuddin, said the programme aims to improve the level of cleanliness, safety and community well-being through more systematic and effective stray animal management.

He said, the incentive rate offered is RM50 for adult dogs, while RM25 for puppies aged below six months.

“The main conditions for application are that the applicant is a Malaysian citizen who lives or resides within the MBS area, the dogs are surrendered alive, with no serious injuries or abuse, and the animal is not licensed or has no proof of ownership.

“The Council is not responsible for any injury, loss or risk that occurs to the surrenderer or the animal before, during and after the surrender/collection process is carried out to MBS.

“Approval will be subject to the conditions and current provisions of MBS. The date of the programme begins on August 24,” he said in a statement today.

He said, the surrender must be done directly to MBS according to the designated date and location.

“Applicants will be contacted by MBS for notification of the application status and submission of a certified copy of the dog surrender application form within seven working days.

“The surrender of dogs to the Environmental Health Department, Wisma MBS can be done between 9 am to 4 pm only, subject to current changes and further notification from MBS officers who will contact the applicant,” he said.
