PUTRAJAYA: Graft busters have been recording the statement of former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli for the third day in a row. This is part of their investigation into claims of power abuse and theft related to a RM1.1 billion strategic semiconductor investment deal.

A strategic agreement between the Economy Ministry and the UK-based business Arm Holdings to work together in the semiconductor industry is the subject of the investigation into alleged wrongdoing and abuse of power.

Rafizi went to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters at 1:50 p.m. on May 6 to make his statement for the third day in a row. The process took about five hours.

The head of the MACC’s senior investigations section, Datuk Mohd Hafaz Nazar, said that the recording of his statement for the third day ended around 7 p.m.

He said, “The process will go on for a fourth day tomorrow morning.”
