KUALA LUMPUR: The Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) will enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy against corruption, abuse of power, and misconduct among its officers, said its newly appointed director, Comm Datuk Seri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali.

He said the firm stance would be implemented alongside a commitment to fair, humane, and professional law enforcement, aimed at strengthening public confidence in the police force.

“Enforcement officers must respect the public and should not create fear. Integrity and professionalism are non-negotiable in maintaining public trust,” he said during a recent address to the department’s top leadership.

Comm Muhammed Hasbullah emphasized that traffic enforcement should go beyond punitive action and be reinforced with preventive strategies, including education, advocacy, and road safety awareness.

“Preventive enforcement must be carried out in parallel with investigations and enforcement operations to achieve sustainable improvements in road safety,” he said.

He added that JSPT must also enhance its assets, technology, and training programs to remain effective in addressing current and future challenges.

“To keep pace with changing times and rising public expectations, we must strengthen our capabilities through improved technology, better resources, and continuous training,” he said.

The address was intended to serve as a guiding commitment for JSPT officers in carrying out their responsibilities to the public and the nation, while reinforcing integrity, professionalism, and effective service delivery for the safety and well-being of road users.

Also present at the session were JSPT deputy directors Deputy Comm Mohd Rozi Jidin and Asst Comm Fauzi Osman, JSPT Secretariat chief ACP Rahmat Ariffin, along with assistant directors, state JSPT chiefs, and senior officers.
