KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22: Kuala Lumpur is set to host one of the Indo-Pacific region’s largest military gatherings from September 23 to 26, bringing together army chiefs and senior representatives from 30 countries.

Jointly organized by the Malaysian Armed Forces and the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC), this year’s program will feature three high-profile events: the 14th Indo-Pacific Armies Chiefs Conference (IPACC), the 49th Indo-Pacific Armies Management Seminar (IPAMS), and the 11th Senior Enlisted Leaders Forum (SELF).

According to Malaysia’s Ministry of Defence, a total of 29 nations will participate, including Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Fiji, France, Indonesia, India, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vanuatu.

The conference, to be held at Kuala Lumpur’s InterContinental Hotel, will focus on strengthening regional and international security, enhancing military cooperation, and advancing strategic partnerships.

Defense analysts say such high-level dialogues play a crucial role in promoting peace and stability across the Indo-Pacific, particularly at a time of evolving geopolitical challenges.
