KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has paid tribute to Malaysia’s fallen heroes and national warriors, acknowledging their selfless service and sacrifice in preserving the nation’s peace and sovereignty.
In a heartfelt message shared via Facebook on Wednesday, Anwar described the sacrifices of Malaysia’s security personnel as a defining chapter in the country’s history, ensuring that peace, harmony, and national security remain intact.
“May Allah place the warriors and soldiers who have shed blood and given their lives for the country’s peace among the righteous and the faithful,” he wrote.
Earlier in the day, Anwar and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, joined Their Majesties, King Sultan Ibrahim and Queen Raja Zarith Sofiah, at the National Mosque for a special Yasin recital, tahlil, and prayer ceremony. The event was attended by members of the security forces and the public and held in conjunction with this year’s Warriors’ Day (Hari Pahlawan) celebration.
The official 2025 Warriors’ Day celebration is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 31, at Dataran Pahlawan Negara in Putrajaya.
Warriors’ Day is observed annually to honor the bravery, sacrifice, and dedication of Malaysia’s armed forces and police personnel. Since 1968, the commemoration has been jointly organized by the Malaysian Armed Forces and the Royal Malaysia Police in alternating years.
This year’s observance serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring legacy and contribution of those who have fought to uphold the country’s sovereignty and freedom.
