RIYADH:The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla, has launched its first training program focused on intercultural dialogue, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The initiative is part of the “Fostering Positive Social Transformations in AlUla” project and is designed for professionals in museum and heritage site management.

According to UNESCO, the training sessions will take place virtually via Zoom every Thursday from September 18 to October 16, between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. GMT+2.

Participants will include representatives from museums and World Heritage sites, particularly those engaged in public outreach, learning, and education.

The program will introduce key concepts in intercultural communication theory, alongside practical applications aimed at strengthening dialogue through the “Live Museum” model.

This model positions museums and heritage sites as platforms for cultural exchange, highlighting heritage and handicrafts as tools to connect diverse cultures.

UNESCO encouraged interested applicants to submit their applications by September 5. Successful candidates will be notified one week before the program begins.
