Three White Bengal Tiger Cubs New Attraction At Kemaman Zoo
KEMAMAN: Three white Bengal tiger cubs have become the new attraction at Kemaman Zoo here, with the animals being put on public display today.
Terengganu Tourism, Culture, Environment and Climate Change Committee Chairman, Datuk Razali Idris, said the four-month-old cubs were born at the zoo through the breeding of white Bengal tigers, Lela Andika and Luna Seroja, on March 14.
“The birth of these three male white Bengal tiger cubs, named Rory, Bima and DB, is a proud achievement as it is rare for the white Bengal tiger species.
“Usually, a female tiger of this species gives birth to a maximum of two cubs per delivery, but Luna Seroja gave birth to three male cubs.
“This is very special. Luna Seroja underwent a gestation period of 104 days,” he said after officiating the release of the white Bengal tiger cubs at Kemaman Zoo here today.
Razali said Lela Andika and Luna Seroja, who are two years old and originate from Cape Town, South Africa, were brought to the zoo in 2024.
He said previously, all three tiger cubs were closely monitored by the veterinary team and animal keepers.
