KUALA LUMPUR: National Songstress, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin, received the recognition of an Honorary Master’s Degree in Creative Arts and Media from Sunway University in appreciation of her outstanding contributions and dedication in empowering the country’s music and creative arts industry.
The happy news was shared by the nation’s number one singer on her Instagram account today.
According to the singer of the song Anta Permana, the recognition is not merely an appreciation of her artistic journey, but is also regarded as recognition for the entire music and creative arts industry in the country.
“Alhamdulillah, thank God. This recognition of an Honorary Master’s Degree in Creative Arts and Media from Sunway University is a tremendous honour.
“This is not only an appreciation of my artistic journey, but also the highest recognition for the entire music and creative arts industry in the country.
“Thank you to the management of Sunway University for this very meaningful honour,” she said.
Siti said the recognition proves that the field of creative arts and media is now increasingly recognised as a prestigious profession and is highly regarded by academic institutions.
“May this award serve as a source of inspiration for the younger generation and local arts practitioners to continue creating works of high quality, with ethics, and to elevate the nation’s arts and culture to a higher level,” she said.
At the Sunway University Convocation Ceremony, Siti also entertained guests with a performance of the song Sejarah.
The recognition was given in appreciation of her outstanding contributions and her artistic journey, which has inspired the nation’s entertainment industry.
Previously, in 2019, Siti also received the Celebrity Lifetime Achievement Award from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in recognition of her immense contributions to the country’s entertainment industry.
