Seri Selangor Monthly Gotong Royong Program embodies the spirit of independence
KUALA LUMPUR: The Seri Selangor Monthly Gotong Royong Program 2024, held yesterday, manifested the spirit of independence, said Zaimi Shamsuri, Chairman of the Madani Community Sub-Zone 6 for the Cheras Parliamentary Constituency.
According to the Wilayahku portal, Zaimi stated that the Program Komuniti Madani Sub-Zone 6 for the Cheras Parliamentary Constituency began at 8 a.m. at the Seri Selangor Community Center.
He mentioned that the program, which he led, focused on activities such as repainting graffiti on walls and gathering all abandoned motorcycles into a designated area.
“This was to facilitate further action by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL),” he said.
Meanwhile, Zaimi noted that the program started with participant registration, breakfast, and stretching exercises led by Ahmad Saiful Abd Hamid, Deputy Chairman of the Seri Selangor Residents’ Association.
He added that 70 Seri Selangor residents participated, including members of the Seri Selangor Residents’ Association, Women Neighbors, Youth Neighbors, Seri Selangor Neighborhood Watch members, Seri Selangor Futsal Team, Seri Selangor Netball Team, and the Madani Community Sub-Zone 6.
“This program, an initiative of the Seri Selangor Community Forum (FORKOM) with support from Kita Untuk Kita (K2K), Think City, and the Ministry of Finance, will be conducted in three sessions.
“The first session was held yesterday, the second session will be on October 6, and the third or final session will be on November 3,” he said.
Zaimi reported that the program concluded at 11:30 a.m.
He also noted that as a result of the program, 12 abandoned motorcycles were collected from Block 09 and another 20 from Block 11, successfully relocated to an appropriate location.
