Anwar criticizes unsatisfactory public service reform process
PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has made several criticisms regarding the public service reform process, including the merger of agencies and departments, which he views as unsatisfactory.
According to Sinar Harian, he also criticized department heads who have yet to submit reports on officer misconduct and those who have not demonstrated outstanding performance in public service.
“The merger of agencies and departments has not been satisfactorily implemented. The overlap of positions remains unsatisfactory.
“Reports on the delays and negligence of some officers have not been submitted,” he said while speaking at the Monthly Assembly with the staff of the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM).
He emphasized that previously announced reform measures need to be implemented promptly.
“We must make the necessary shifts as effectively as possible,” Anwar stated.
