Saudi Crown Prince Set to Meet Trump at White House Amid Push for Defense Pact and Regional Normalization

WASHINGTON, Oct 22:  Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) is scheduled to visit U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House next month, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday.

According to Bloomberg, the high-profile meeting expected to take place on November 18 will focus on a series of strategic agreements between Riyadh and Washington. The deals reportedly cover artificial intelligence, defense cooperation, nuclear energy, and trade.

While the White House has yet to issue an official confirmation, the visit marks a significant step in Saudi Arabia’s ongoing effort to secure a formal defense pact with the United States.

Sources told CBS News that the two leaders are also expected to discuss military and intelligence cooperation, signaling a deepening of ties between the two longtime allies.

Speaking to Fox News last Friday, Trump revealed that Saudi officials had recently informed him of their willingness to join the Abraham Accords, the U.S.-brokered normalization deals between Israel and several Muslim-majority nations signed during his first term.

“I hope to see Saudi Arabia go in, and I hope to see others go in. I think when Saudi Arabia goes in, everybody goes in,” Trump said.

The upcoming meeting follows Trump’s announcement of a 20-point ceasefire plan aimed at ending the ongoing war in Gaza, which has ravaged the region for nearly two years. The ceasefire has opened a new diplomatic window for Trump to push forward his broader Middle East peace and normalization agenda.

During the prolonged conflict, Israel’s global standing deteriorated sharply, with numerous countries severing or downgrading relations amid allegations of war crimes. Meanwhile, several key U.S. allies in Western Europe have moved to formally recognize the State of Palestine, further reshaping the geopolitical balance in the Middle East.

If the Saudi visit proceeds as expected, analysts say it could mark a major diplomatic milestone, potentially redefining regional alliances and setting the stage for a new phase of U.S.-Saudi-Israeli relations under Trump’s leadership.
