Riyadh: In a continued effort to ensure the safety, security, and smooth coordination of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has released a comprehensive guide for all pilgrims taking part in this year’s sacred journey.
The guide provides detailed instructions covering all aspects of the pilgrimage, including routes to the Grand Mosque in Makkah, maps of pedestrian pathways, and access points to key ritual sites such as the Tawaf and Sa’i zones.
To manage the large crowds and promote an orderly flow of pilgrims, the guide highlights peak movement times within the Grand Mosque and surrounding courtyards. It also includes advice on vehicle usage, crowd-control measures, and protocols for safely navigating high-density areas.
A key feature of the guide is its emphasis on adherence to scheduled group times for performing core rituals, including Tawaf, Sa’i, and the stoning of the Jamarat. This measure is intended to enhance safety and minimize congestion at ritual sites.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Ministry of Interior stated that the guide is designed to assist pilgrims in fulfilling their religious duties safely, efficiently, and with peace of mind. The ministry also reminded all prospective pilgrims that official permits are mandatory for performing Hajj. Individuals found violating these regulations will face penalties.
Citizens and residents are urged to comply fully with all Hajj-related rules and report any violations to the authorities. Reports can be made by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 in other regions of the Kingdom.
The 2025 Hajj season officially begins on Wednesday, June 4, and will conclude on Monday, June 9.
