RIYADH, Sept 21 (VoM): Saudi Arabia has pledged a fresh economic aid package worth SR1.38 billion (US$368 million) to Yemen, aimed at supporting the country’s fragile economy and easing humanitarian pressures.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the new support will be delivered through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen. It includes direct budget assistance, funding for petroleum derivatives, and operational costs for the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden.

Riyadh stated that the initiative underscores its commitment to stabilizing Yemen’s economy and supporting the Yemeni government’s reform agenda.

SPA added that the aid package comes under the directives of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and is based on recommendations from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Saudi Arabia has been one of the largest providers of humanitarian and economic aid to Yemen throughout its ongoing conflict, consistently pledging support to alleviate hardship and promote development in the war-torn nation.
