KOTA KINABALU – Certain groups are deliberately creating a negative image of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim ahead of the Sabah state election (PRN), even though he is in fact bringing significant progress to the state.
Selangor State Election Department (JPRN) Director, Dr Sathia Prakash Nadarajan, said efforts to tarnish Anwar’s image are baseless, as his administration has clearly strengthened revenue returns, increased development allocations, and restored foreign investor confidence in Malaysia.
He added that Anwar’s Madani diplomacy has elevated the nation’s international reputation, contradicting the negative perception being crafted by vested interests within the country.
“Sabahans must assess real performance records, not the rhetoric of those who play narrow political perception games,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Dr Sathia stated that the Sabah state election provides an opportunity for voters to choose high-calibre candidates capable of bringing Sabah’s voice to Putrajaya with the direct support of Anwar’s leadership.
According to him, the three PH candidates coordinated by JPRN Selangor each have distinctive strengths and proven track records.
In Sindumin, PH is featuring former Deputy Finance Minister II, Datuk Yamani Hafez Musa, who previously proposed long-term plans including an international port, development of Lumadan, and improvements to the logistics network.

For Inanam, Datuk Peto Galim is known as a grassroots leader committed to flood mitigation projects in Likas, road upgrades, construction of Rumah Mesra Rakyat, and programmes empowering small traders.

Meanwhile in Moyog, local candidate Remysta Jimmy Taylor is promoting a community-based economic approach covering homestay tourism, hill agriculture, small enterprises, and native land issues.

He said that Yamani, Peto, and Remysta are not just candidates but a workforce capable of voicing the aspirations of Sabahans at the national level.
“Sabahans must choose leaders with integrity, capability, and strong ties with the Federal Government for the state’s future,” he said.
