ALOR SETAR: Continuous heavy rainfall in Kedah has led to severe flooding, forcing the temporary closure of two police stations: Changlun Police Station in Kubang Pasu and Padang Sanai Police Station in Padang Terap.

Kubang Pasu district police, in an announcement on its official Facebook page on Monday (Nov 24), confirmed that the Changlun Police Station is now closed due to rising floodwaters in the surrounding area.

Residents requiring police assistance or needing to lodge reports have been instructed to visit the Bukit Kayu Hitam Police Station or any nearby police station until further notice.

Meanwhile, authorities also issued traffic alerts as flood conditions worsened.
The Kodiang Padang Sera road has been completely shut down to all vehicles, specifically from the Kampung Meribut stretch to the Padang Sera junction. Motorists are being directed to use an alternative route via Kampung Meribut, Kampung Pering, Kampung Kubang Menerong, and Napoh.

Additionally, the Napoh Wang Perah road has been closed to light vehicles between KM0.5 and KM1.5, affecting areas near Kampung Jeragan, Kampung Kubang Betong, and Kampung Bukit.

Police reported that floodwaters reached 60 cm (two feet) as of 4pm on Monday, prompting further diversions.
Road users have been advised to take the Jalan Kampung Belukar–Kampung Padang Panjang–Kampung Perik route as an alternative.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as rainfall shows no signs of easing, raising concerns over potential further disruptions in flood-prone districts.
