PARIS|| July 3, 2025: Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived safely in Paris to begin his official visit to the French Republic, following an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron.
In a statement, Anwar expressed gratitude for the safe arrival of the Malaysian delegation and shared details of his official agenda in the French capital. A key highlight of the visit will be a one-on-one meeting with President Macron at the Élysée Palace, where the two leaders are expected to discuss ways to further strengthen the longstanding bilateral relationship between Malaysia and France.
“Insya-Allah, I will meet with President Macron to explore efforts to deepen existing cooperation, as well as potential collaborations in strategic sectors,” Anwar said.
Areas of discussion are expected to include trade, investment, defense, education, tourism, and people-to-people ties—all central to enhancing bilateral relations and fostering sustainable growth.
In addition to diplomatic meetings, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend a roundtable session with leading French industry figures, aimed at promoting Malaysia as a destination for trade and investment. He will also deliver a public lecture at the prestigious Sorbonne University, engaging with French academia and students on Malaysia’s foreign policy, economic outlook, and regional cooperation.
Anwar expressed hope that the visit would further solidify the close friendship and growing partnership between Malaysia and France, ultimately benefiting both nations and contributing to broader regional and global progress.
This official visit marks another milestone in Malaysia’s international diplomacy under the Madani government, with an emphasis on strategic alliances and inclusive global engagement.
