He is currently undergoing reconstructive surgery using a procedure known as a “skin allograft,” which involves having a skin patch flown in from Belgium.

According to Dr. Muhammad Hazwan Khair, head of sports medicine at Selangor FC, the most important thing right now is to watch how the player’s body responds to the donated skin patch and whether or not it shows positive signs. This is because skin allografts are derived from human cadavers, which increases the risk of graft rejection.

After undergoing a third surgery yesterday afternoon, Faisal Halim showed signs of improvement and declared his intention to return home.

The 26-year-old athlete requires close observation until the next procedure is performed by the specialised physician, so he is not allowed to receive visitors at this time.

Last Sunday, May 5, at a shopping mall in Petaling Jaya, one or two guys doused Faisal Halim with pure sulfuric acid, causing him to sustain injuries. The incident stunned the local football arena. The attackers’ motivation is still unclear.
