Nexperts Academy Expands Bumiputera Tech Talent Pipeline as Yayasan Peneraju Funding Nears Final Intake

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 — Nexperts Academy is ramping up efforts to equip more Bumiputera talent with high-demand digital skills as Yayasan Peneraju’s education funding initiative enters its final phase, with applications open until December 15.

Launched in early 2025, the programme has enabled Bumiputera aged 16 and above to pursue professional certifications in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Cloud Computing, Networking and Cybersecurity — fields central to Malaysia’s AI Nation 2030 aspirations.

Despite the initiative winding down, demand for places remains strong as the academy continues offering training allowances and non-repayment financing options for participants who meet attendance and exam requirements.

As an appointed Accredited Learning and Training Institution (ALTI), Petaling Jaya–based Nexperts Academy has trained students across modules such as networking fundamentals, digital infrastructure and cloud technologies.

The academy also offers the region’s most sought-after Cybersecurity, Network & Multicloud Bootcamp, covering CompTIA Network+ and Cloud+, Microsoft Certified Azure Associate and pathways to roles such as Cloud Engineer, System Administrator and Network Engineer.

Rising cyber threats — including recent ransomware attacks targeting local companies — have intensified the need for skilled cybersecurity professionals. Nexperts Academy’s Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) training, recognised by EC-Council, equips participants with real-world offensive security skills to strengthen digital defences.

Its AI & Machine Learning Bootcamp also continues to attract high enrolment, training participants in Python-based automation, predictive modelling and AI-driven solutions. Many non-IT trainees report improved workplace productivity and new income opportunities through data-driven decision-making.

Nexperts Academy director Nazreen Abdul Ghani said global certifications have helped participants secure better roles and break career stagnation, adding that many Bumiputera lack access to internationally recognised tech credentials.

“We’re not just training participants — we’re helping them enter careers that can transform their livelihoods,” he said.

CEO Vaheed said Malaysia’s digital economy cannot advance without a strong pipeline of Bumiputera tech professionals.

“This initiative is about uplifting communities and powering Malaysia’s journey toward an AI-driven future,” he said.

The academy reports that 70% of alumni secured employment during or soon after completing their training.
