KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian hotels, destination management companies (DMCs), airlines and event suppliers are being invited to explore international business opportunities at the Meet Global MICE Congress (MGMC) in Moscow next month.

The event, organised by the Moscow City Tourism Committee, will take place on Dec 16 and 17 at the World Trade Center Moscow, bringing together more than 3,000 business travel and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) professionals from over 40 countries.

Organisers said about 70% of attendees were expected to be C-level executives, offering Malaysian industry players direct access to international decision-makers and potential business partners.

More than 150 suppliers will participate in scheduled business-to-business (B2B) meetings with qualified buyers, while a Hosted Buyers programme will bring together more than 200 decision-makers responsible for major corporate event budgets.

The buyers will come from markets including China, India, Southeast Asia, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Latin America, Africa and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Moscow City Tourism Committee head of business tourism development Anastasia Popova said the participation of Malaysian industry players was highly valued, describing Malaysia as an emerging leading MICE destination.

“The Congress offers an exceptional opportunity for Malaysian experts to showcase their potential on the global stage and expand their professional connections,” she said.

This year’s theme, “The Anatomy of Success in MICE: From Ideas and Tools to Tangible Results”, will focus on the full lifecycle of business events, from conceptualisation and execution to post-event evaluation.

The programme will feature practical sessions and case studies covering financial sustainability, digital technologies, entering new markets and crisis management.

Moscow also offers convention centres and more than 150 venues within its business events ecosystem, including museums, historic estates, theatres and city landmarks, allowing organisers to incorporate cultural experiences into corporate programmes.

Foreign delegates can also apply for an electronic visa (e-visa), which organisers say will help simplify travel arrangements.

Industry professionals can register through the official MGMC website at https://business.russpass.ru/en/projects-events/meet-global-mice-congress/mgmc-2026.

MGMC is described as Russia’s largest MICE industry event, bringing together international suppliers and qualified buyers, alongside a business programme addressing key challenges and opportunities in the sector.
