Man loses approximately RM80,000 life savings to a job fraud
JOHOR: A 46-year-old jobless guy fell victim to a fraudulent job scam and lost around RM80,000 of his life savings. According to Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan, the victim discovered he had been tricked and reported the scam to the police on May 14.
“On May 5, the victim came across an advertisement on Facebook offering a part-time job with a high commission,” said ACP Kumarasan.

“The victim conducted 15 transactions totaling RM78,285 after reaching out via WhatsApp.
He eventually discovered it was a scam on May 13 when he was asked to pay an extra RM13,000, he stated in a statement released on Wednesday, May 15.
The case is being looked into for cheating under Penal Code Section 420.
