At the CYDES 2025 event held in Kuala Lumpur, a critical session titled “Countering Digital Crime: Strengthening Malaysia’s Response to Cyber Fraud and Financial Crime” drew attention from cybersecurity experts, policymakers, and law enforcement officials.
The session, part of a broader conference on advancing national cyber resilience, focused on Malaysia’s strategic initiatives to combat digital financial threats. Organized by the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) and supported by the Ministry of Communications, the event showcased the government’s multi-agency approach to curbing online fraud, phishing schemes, and other forms of cybercrime that target financial systems.
Speaking during the session, experts emphasized the importance of collaborative frameworks involving both public and private sectors. Key discussions revolved around the integration of artificial intelligence in fraud detection, the tightening of regulatory frameworks, and increasing public awareness on cyber safety.
