Malaysia denounces Israel’s “incessant” aggression in Gaza
Malaysia “unambiguously” denounced Friday the “incessant and targeted” Israeli attacks on people in Gaza, according to the Anadolu Agency.
Deliberate hospital targeting, such as the most recent “devastating assault” on Kamal Adwan Hospital, when patients and medical workers were forcibly removed, “clearly” violates international humanitarian law and UN resolutions, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “obstructionist tactics have stalled meaningful progress in ceasefire negotiations” and worsened Palestinian suffering. “The relentless airstrikes, forced evacuations, and systematic targeting of residential areas and designated safe zones are clear acts of genocide,” the text read.
The ministry urged the world community to “live up to the collective responsibility” in order to eliminate the “atrocities and devastations” and safeguard the lives of civilians.
Calling for an immediate end to the occupation of Palestinian areas and guaranteeing Palestine’s legitimate membership in the UN, the statement declared that “peace, justice, and respect for international law must prevail.”
Since an October 7, 2023, Hamas onslaught in Gaza, Israel has destroyed the enclave to rubble and killed about 45,550 people, primarily women and children. Negotiations have not yet led to the end of the war.
Yoav Gallant, the Israeli defense minister, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were both wanted by the International Criminal Court in November for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
The International Court of Justice is also considering a genocide lawsuit against Israel for its war on the enclave.
Human Rights Watch reported in December that Israel had perpetrated genocide by restricting Gaza’s water supplies to levels that were insufficient for basic needs.Aside from that,
Additionally, in the same month, a report by Amnesty International found that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza.
