KUALA LUMPUR, July 21— The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim has granted royal assent to 20 key acts passed by the Malaysian Parliament, including the highly anticipated Parliamentary Services Act 2025, the Malaysian Media Council Act 2025, and several major amendments aimed at strengthening governance, media regulation, and legal frameworks.
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul announced the approval during a special parliamentary briefing today at the start of the Second Meeting, Fourth Term of the 15th Parliament, which will run for 24 days until August 28.

Speaker Johari emphasized the importance of the Parliamentary Services Act, stating that its passage marks a significant restoration of institutional autonomy for the Malaysian Parliament. “This is a milestone for strengthening Malaysian democracy and upholding the principle of separation of powers,” he said, thanking all MPs for their support.
The session will primarily focus on the tabling and debate of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), which Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to present on July 31. Other important items on the agenda include the Auditor General’s Report 2/2025 and the Annual Report and Financial Statements of the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM).
Johari also reminded all Members of Parliament to undergo mandatory health screenings by November 7, citing the importance of early health detection and prevention.
