Mechanic Dies After Motorcycle Believed To Have Collided With Unidentified Vehicle

NILAI: A mechanic died after the motorcycle he was riding was believed to have collided with a vehicle that has yet to be identified in an accident on Jalan Batang Benar near the Kuari Bertam Intersection early this morning.

In the incident which occurred at approximately 6.15 a.m., the victim, M. Kapilan, 28, was confirmed dead at the scene due to severe head and limb injuries.

Nilai District Police Chief, Superintendent Johari Yahya, said that preliminary investigations found that the victim, who was riding a Yamaha NVX motorcycle, was travelling from the direction of Semarak heading towards Sri Pajam via Jalan Batang Benar.

“When he arrived at the location, the victim, who was moving in his lane, is believed to have collided with a vehicle that has yet to be identified.

“As a result of the collision, the victim suffered severe injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene,” he said when contacted.

According to him, the victim’s body was sent to the Rembau Hospital Forensic Unit for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.

He said that investigations found that the location of the incident was a straight two-way road with one lane for each direction, while the weather condition at the time of the incident was good and the road surface was dry.
