Tehran: Iran’s Ministry of Defense has declared its firm intention to continue retaliatory military operations against Israel, vowing to “break the back” of what it calls the Zionist regime. The declaration comes amid ongoing tensions following a series of deadly Israeli strikes inside Iranian territory.

Speaking in a televised interview on Tuesday, Brigadier General Reza Talayi-Nik, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Defense, emphasized Iran’s defensive resolve and readiness to utilize all available military capabilities in response to what he described as an “imposed war.”

“Our nation is under attack, and the enemy is targeting the strength and resilience of every segment of our people,” said Talayi-Nik. “We remain firmly on the defensive, but we are utilizing all offensive and defensive capabilities. Every sector of society is involved in the resistance.”

The general condemned Israel for targeting civilians, citing Friday morning’s airstrike on a residential complex in northern Tehran that reportedly killed 60 people, including 20 children. “On the very first night, the enemy showed its brutality by attacking women and children,” he said.

Talayi-Nik also revealed that Iran had deployed a previously unseen missile system for the first time during Tuesday’s strikes, part of the ninth phase of Operation True Promise III. “We used one of our new missiles today, and the Zionist regime didn’t even realize it had been deployed” They can expect more such surprises,” he warned.

The ninth and tenth phases of the operation, carried out under the codename “Ya Ali ibn Abi Talib,” saw large-scale missile and drone strikes aimed at Israeli military bases and infrastructure within the occupied Palestinian territories.

Iranian officials maintain that the campaign is a direct response to Israeli acts of aggression, including the assassinations of several senior Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and innocent civilians.

Talayi-Nik asserted that the Israeli regime lacks the capacity for a prolonged conflict. “The enemy cannot sustain a long war. As this struggle continues, the back of the Zionist regime will be broken,” he said.

In response to the intensity and success of Iran’s retaliatory strikes, Israeli authorities have reportedly banned live broadcasts of ongoing Iranian operations, citing concerns over public morale and operational security.

The escalating confrontation between Iran and Israel has heightened regional tensions, with both sides preparing for what could become an extended conflict if diplomatic off-ramps are not found soon.
