An official said Saturday that Jordanian food companies that attend the International Food and Drink Event for the first time will have a “remarkable opportunity.” The event starts on Monday at the ExCeL International Exhibition Centre in London.

About 30,000 buyers and distributors from more than 105 countries are expected to attend the three-day show, which will have 1,500 exhibitors from all over the world.

Ahmed Khudari, head of the Jordan Exporters Association, stressed the importance of the kingdom’s show debut. He called it a key step toward promoting Jordanian food exports and growing their presence in international markets.

“This first participation is part of the association’s plan to boost food exports from Jordan and make them more visible on global markets,” he said.

Khudari also said that IFE 2025 was a great chance for Jordanian businesses to show off their goods and get more attention around the world, especially in the UK.

“The IFE 2025 is a great chance for Jordanian businesses to show the world how good their products are and help promote Jordanian exports around the world, especially in Britain, where demand for foods from other countries, especially Arab countries, is growing,” he said.

Businesses in Jordan will be able to show off a wide range of goods at the exhibition, such as sweets, baked goods, spices, nuts, and other food items.

Khudari discussed the good things about the British market, especially the fact that there are many Arabs living there. He called it a “great opportunity for Jordanian companies to expand their businesses and strengthen their presence in this important destination,” using the free trade agreement that Jordan and the UK signed in 2021.

He also said that the show gives people a chance to meet new people and talk about how growing Jordan’s exports can help the country’s economy as a whole, especially in times of trouble.

“Jordanian exports are a solution to many economic problems because they create new markets for local goods, which increases production, helps industries grow, and brings in new investments,” he said.

According to Khudari, these kinds of efforts would also create jobs for Jordanians, boost foreign currency savings, and make the trade balance better.

Official numbers indicate that trade between Jordan and the UK was worth about 303 million Jordanian dinars ($427.3 million) last year, with 62 million Jordanian dinars going to exports from Jordan.
