Helicopter Crash: Dr Ainul Confirmed Dead – Family
KOTA BHARU: “Our family was contacted by the Ministry of Health (MOH) this afternoon, informing us that Dr Ainul has passed away.”
This was confirmed by Nureez Mohd Pauzi, who is also the sister-in-law of Dr Ainul Baroah Kamaruddin, identified as one of the five individuals on board the helicopter reported to have crashed and caught fire in the area of Long Lellang Airport, Ulu Baram in Marudi, this afternoon.
She said the call from the MOH was made to Dr Ainul’s husband, Muhammad Faiz Abdul Malik, at around 4 pm.
“We are now at the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (LTSIP) to head to Kuala Lumpur before departing for Sarawak at dawn tomorrow,” she said.
Earlier, the media reported that the pilot and passengers of the BO-105 helicopter, which was reported to have crashed and been completely engulfed in flames at the Long Lellang Airport area, have been identified.
The individuals involved were identified as Captain Zainol, Dr Ainul, Assistant Medical Officer Alexson Adit, and two nurses, Debra Moset and Jessie Paya.
In the incident at around 3.40 pm, rescue and medical personnel were reported to have arrived at the scene at 3.46 pm to carry out rescue operations.
