PUTRAJAYA: A member of Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holding (GISBH) was charged in the Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court today for threatening a woman, who is also a former member of the organization, to withdraw her police report against him on September 9.

According to the Wilayahku portal, Mohamad Rizar Makar, 39, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read before Magistrate Ahmad Afiq Hasan.

According to the charge sheet, the accused, who is self-employed, was alleged to have criminally intimidated a woman in the parking lot of Galeria, Precinct 4, Putrajaya, at 10 PM on September 9.

The man, who has three wives and is a father of ten children, was accused of threatening the woman by stating, “We know where your husband and family live,” intending to instill fear so that the former GISBH member would withdraw her police report.

He was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which pertains to criminal intimidation, carrying a penalty of imprisonment for up to two years, or a fine, or both upon conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Sabri Othman offered bail of RM30,000 for all charges with one surety and additional conditions requiring the accused to surrender his passport to the court and report to the nearest police station once a month.

Lawyer Zufikri Ulul Azmin appealed for a minimum bail amount for his client, noting that the accused has three wives and ten children, and earns RM4,000 per month as a self-employed individual.

The accused also requested a reduction in bail while in court, citing that he recently had a newborn child who is one month old and that he needs to support a large family with children still in school.

After hearing arguments from both sides, Ahmad Afiq subsequently allowed the accused bail of RM10,000 with one surety, granting the additional conditions requested by the prosecution, and set October 18 for the case mention.

He also ordered the accused not to disturb, approach, or contact the woman involved until the case is resolved.
