Food company refutes RM3 Million loss claim by Wak Doyok
KUALA LUMPUR: Social media personality and entrepreneur Wak Doyok’s recent allegation that he incurred a loss exceeding RM3 million due to actions by his business partner is “false.”
Muhammad Hanif Omar, 29, the Director of Operations at WD Food Group, stated that the company rejects Wak Doyok’s claims and denies any intention to pay damages.
According to a Harian Metro report, Hanif clarified that there was no commitment from his company to the RM3 million figure mentioned by Wak Doyok. Instead, WD Food Group has already disbursed RM800,000 in profits from their investment to Wak Doyok.
“There is no agreement for a RM3 million profit between WD Food Group and Wak Doyok. We have provided him with RM800,000 in profits,” Hanif said.
He also noted that WD Food Group plans to refund the RM300,000 investment made by Wak Doyok by November.
Hanif spoke outside the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex today. His lawyer, Faiz Kamal Jaafar, mentioned that they have filed for an injunction against Wak Doyok, with the court hearing scheduled for September 2.
“Previously, Wak Doyok’s statements negatively impacted the company’s operations and Hanif’s reputation. He also caused disruptions for the company’s staff,” Faiz added, noting that Wak Doyok’s contract with WD Food Group, which began two years ago, will end in December.
In addition to the defamation lawsuit, WD Food Group, a frozen food company, has filed two additional claims against Wak Doyok concerning trademarks. These matters are expected to be addressed in court next month.
Faiz also revealed that the company attempted mediation with Wak Doyok, but it was unsuccessful.
Earlier, Wak Doyok, whose full name is Mohd Azwan Md Nor, 44, alleged that he had been deceived by his business partner.
