KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 61 unauthorised structures used for business activities at the People’s Housing Project (PPR) Seri Cempaka, near Lembah Pantai here, were demolished by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) in an integrated operation yesterday.

DBKL, in a statement, informed that the demolition and cleaning of the structures were carried out after the owners complied with the enforcement notices and site vacate notices issued for offences under the Streets, Drainage and Buildings Act 1974.

“The demolished structures involved food and beverage business premises, grocery stores, storage, general services, and others.

“The work of demolishing the 61 structures and cleaning the area proceeded smoothly after business goods and equipment were moved out by the premise owners.

“The actions carried out included the disconnection of water and electricity supply according to the established processes and standard operating procedures (SOP),” the statement said today.

DBKL said yesterday’s operation was carried out in collaboration with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), and Air Selangor Sdn Bhd for the purpose of implementing the Projek Lestari Niaga development programme.
