Daniel Gimenez Alcaniz Appointed to Lead Negeri Sembilan FC

SEREMBAN: Football team Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) today announced the appointment of Spanish coach Daniel Gimenez Alcaniz, 42, as the team’s new head coach for the 2026/27 Super League season.

In a statement this afternoon, NSFC informed that the UEFA Pro licence holder brings with him more than a decade of experience in professional football across Europe, Asia and Africa.

Throughout his coaching career, Daniel has served with clubs in Lebanon, namely Al Ahed FC, Al Nejmeh SC and Akhaa Al Ahly FC, as well as Al Hilal (Sudan) and Modern Sport FC (Egypt).

He has also guided the Lebanon National Under-17 team as well as Al-Nasr Club in the Oman Professional League.

“Among his biggest achievements are winning the 2019 AFC Cup with Al Ahed FC and winning the Sudan Premier League with Al Hilal.

“Most recently, he finished third in the Oman Professional League with Al Nasr and qualified the club for the Arab Club Champions Cup,” the statement said.

NSFC Chairman, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the selection of Daniel is in line with the direction and genetics that NSFC wishes to instil, which emphasises youth player development, a clear playing identity, tactical discipline as well as the formation of a competitive and sustainable team.

He explained that after going through a thorough evaluation process, the club believes he is the most suitable candidate to lead the football project currently being developed by NSFC.

“What caught our attention was not only his experience in various countries and international competitions, but also his football philosophy that is aligned with Negeri Sembilan FC’s identity,” he said.

“We welcome Daniel Gimenez Alcaniz to Negeri Sembilan,” he added.
