Cops arrest two for break-in at S’gor footballer’s home
SHAH ALAM: Selangor centreback Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee’s residence was broken into and two persons were taken into custody in relation to the incident, according to Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.
As per the chief of Selangor police, on June 26, the two suspects were apprehended in the vicinity of Kampung Alur Tuman in Marang, Terengganu.
“They were apprehended following an accident that involved both of them.
“We think these two were behind the theft at the footballer’s house,” he stated on Tuesday, July 2, at a press conference held at the Selangor police headquarters.
According to him, the police also took many things from the accused valued at over RM50,000.
“A automobile, a motorcycle, four pairs of gloves, 17 watches, five rings, seven cell phones, 17 bags, and a camera were among the things seized.
“Both men also tested positive for methamphetamine,” according to him.
Comm Hussein added that the accused had been placed in remand until July 3.
“We think they were behind nine thefts and break-ins, including the one at the football player’s house.
“They have two cases each in Selangor, Melaka and Pahang as well as three cases in Terengganu,” he stated.
Comm Hussein stated that although the football player’s case has been resolved, the police are now finishing up their investigation report and will shortly submit it to the deputy public prosecutor.
The 31-year-old football player reported to the police on May 22 that about 11.30 p.m., someone broke into his Shah Alam home.
According to preliminary investigations, the suspect is thought to have stolen the victim’s motorbike after going to the house in a white MPV.
Passports and luxury purses were among the other stolen goods.
Before breaking into the footballer’s residence, the suspects allegedly watched other homes, according to the police.
He said that two persons were involved in the burglary as seen by CCTV evidence.
