Anwar appreciates the public’s effort to celebrate Independence Day

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim extended his highest appreciation and congratulations to the hundreds of thousands of Malaysians from various backgrounds who were willing to wait from early morning to energize this year’s Independence Day celebrations.

According to Berita Harian, he stated that this year’s celebration is significant in inspiring everyone to reflect on the independence enjoyed for the past 67 years.

“Early this morning, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and I joined hundreds of thousands of Malaysians from across the country at Dataran Putrajaya to celebrate the 67th National Day.

“I am proud to see the enthusiastic and spirited participation from the security forces, enforcement agencies, government bodies, private companies, and students in this independence parade,” he mentioned in a recent Facebook post.

Anwar also expressed his admiration for the captivating performances, especially the aerial displays and the Malaysia MADANI presentation.

He added that Malaysia MADANI Jiwa Merdeka, which highlights the theme of integrity, focuses on the fight to cleanse the nation of corruption.

“The impressive performances and cheers from approximately 2,000 students participating in the Human Graphic Terrace team were also a highlight of the parade,” he said.
