KUALA LUMPUR, July 10, 2025 (Voice of Malaysia)— As digital threats evolve and intensify, cybersecurity must move beyond traditional IT departments to become a central pillar of corporate strategy, urged Ts. Dr. Noor Afiza Mat Razali, Director of Capacity Building and Project Management at the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), Malaysia.
Delivering a compelling keynote at the TIME Digital Pulse Check Summit 2025, Dr. Noor Afiza spoke on the theme “Governing Digital Risk: The Imperatives of Cybersecurity in a Shifting Threat Landscape.” Her presentation highlighted the growing need for organizations—particularly Malaysian mid-tier companies—to rethink their approach to digital security amid an increasingly complex and hostile cyber environment.
“Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT concern,” she said. “It is a critical strategic priority that impacts business resilience, customer trust, and revenue.”
Dr. Noor Afiza emphasized the growing severity and persistence of cyber threats, noting that digital risks now have direct consequences on an organization’s operational continuity and public credibility. She urged organizations to embrace digital resilience and governance as core components of their business strategy.
The keynote was part of the TIME Digital Pulse Check Summit 2025, a major event bringing together thought leaders, technology experts, and policymakers to explore the evolving digital landscape. The summit was held in collaboration with partners including NACSA, MCMC, Deloitte, and others.
Dr. Noor Afiza’s insights received strong engagement from attendees, especially for her call to action for mid-sized businesses to elevate cybersecurity to the boardroom level and invest in long-term capacity building.
Her remarks come as Malaysia and the region face a surge in cyber incidents, making digital governance a top priority for both public and private sectors.
