IRGC Commander Warns US of ‘Historic Lesson’ After Missile Strike on Al-Udeid Base

Tehran—24June 2025: A top Iranian military commander has issued a stern warning to the United States following Iran’s retaliatory missile strike on the Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, declaring that any further aggression will result in a “historic lesson” for Washington.

Major General Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces, made the remarks early Tuesday, hours after Iran launched a barrage of missiles targeting the US military outpost, which serves as the forward headquarters of US Central Command (CENTCOM) and US Air Force Central Command (AFCENT).

The operation was carried out in direct response to what Iran called an unprovoked attack by the United States on three nuclear facilities located in central and north-central Iran on Sunday morning.

“The Al-Udeid base — CENTCOM’s beating heart in West Asia — was powerfully struck and sustained damage despite its heavy defenses,” General Pakpour said in a statement.

Describing the retaliatory strike as “devastating,” the IRGC commander asserted that Iran had successfully demonstrated its military capabilities and resolve in defending its sovereignty.

Pakpour directly criticized US President Donald Trump, calling him “foolish and ignorant” for ordering the strikes on Iranian soil, and accusing the administration of prioritizing Israeli interests over the security of the American people.

“By supporting the nefarious and child-killing Israeli regime, the US President has sacrificed the interests and security of his own nation,” Pakpour stated.

He warned that any renewed American military action against Iran would provoke an even harsher response.

“Any further adventurism will be met with more crushing and regret-inducing retaliation,” he said. “Such actions will be remembered as a lesson in history.”

The Iranian military has framed the missile attack as a defensive operation rooted in international law in response to what it views as an act of war by the United States and its Israeli ally.

While the United States has not released official details about casualties or damage at Al-Udeid, the Iranian statement claims the base—a central hub for US air operations in the region—was successfully hit despite advanced missile defense systems.

The rising tensions come at a volatile moment in the region, as conflict between Iran and Israel intensifies and draws in global powers. Iran has reiterated that it does not seek a broader war but will act decisively to protect its territorial integrity.
