Tehran, June 23: After the U.S. bombed Iranian nuclear sites, Iran’s top military leaders sent out strong warnings, saying that the U.S.’s aggression has given Iranian forces full freedom to fight back against both U.S. and Israeli interests.
Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, declared on Monday that the U.S. had granted the Armed Forces’ warriors the freedom to take any action against its interests and military. This was in response to the attack on Sunday on three important nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow.
“This illegal action by the United States has given the Islamic Republic a huge number of choices,” Mousavi said. “We now have complete freedom to choose how to respond to both the U.S. and its illegal and hostile child, the Zionist regime.”
Tehran is getting much more frustrated about what it sees as a clear violation of its sovereignty and a breach of international law, as shown by Mousavi’s message.
The head of the army promises a “decisive response.”
In line with what Mousavi said, the commander of the Iranian Army, Major General Amir Hatami, also spoke out against U.S. violence and promised a “firm and decisive” response.
Hatami told top military officers on Monday, “Every time the United States has done wrong against our country, it has been met with a strong response. This time will be no different.”
Hatami warned that America’s past mistakes, including its support for Iraq during the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s, had been met with force and that the current attack would receive the same response.
Retaliation is already happening.
As part of Operation True Promise III, which is still going on, Iran is said to have launched 21 rounds of retaliation strikes, using hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones to target Israeli military sites.
Hatami said, “These operations have prevented the enemy from achieving any sense of victory.” He also said that because Iran’s counterstrikes were fierce, Tel Aviv had to ask Washington for direct military support.
“The American-backed Zionist regime, feeling the heat of our retaliation, dragged itself into open conflict with the Islamic Republic,” Hatami stated.
Resisting Without Giving Up
Both leaders made it clear that Iran will not give up its fight.
Mousavi said, “In this matter, we will never give up,” and Hatami said, “We will continue to fight for victory, and God willing, divine support will be with us.”
Recent events have increased the danger in the region and could escalate the conflict between Iran, Israel, and the US.
