JSJK reveals knowledge of commercial crime at DSA & NATSEC Asia 2024
KUALA LUMPUR – The service and exposure by checking on the ‘Semakmule’ portal got the attention of visitors at the Defense Services Asia (DSA) Exhibition and the National Security Exhibition (NATSEC) Asia 2024 here.
The exhibition which lasted for four days until Thursday at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur also hosted the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK) of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
The Semakmule portal is a facility that has been developed by JSJK to enable the public to check the bank account numbers of individuals and companies that have been reported to be involved in fraudulent activities.
The Semakmule portal can also be downloaded via smartphone.
For info, until now, this portal has listed a total of 199,552 bank accounts that are used as mule accounts.
In addition, the officer on duty also shared guidance and tips to ensure a safe website.
Among them, make sure the URL starts with https and has a mango icon (lock), not http; the website has a security certificate; no spelling mistakes other than being careful with websites that have a lot of dubious ads and don’t visit sites that have signs of malware such as exclamation marks.
Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK) Cyber Crime and Multimedia Investigation Officer, Inspector NorFaliza Abu Halipah said that she who represents JSJK Bukit Aman is very pleased with the involvement in the exhibition.
“This is because it can indirectly give exposure and awareness to the visitors who are here for four days.
“The average visitor is very interested in the services offered through the Semakmule system.
“The revelation of the latest trend in commercial crime, which is online fraud, has made many people open their eyes to the dangers of this crime,” he said when contacted by Sinar Harian at the JSJK court here on Thursday.
Last week, JSJK Bukit Aman Director, Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf revealed that there are still many people who do not know about the Semakmule portal.
