China and Russia have been accused of assisting Iran in transporting missiles to the Middle East via air shipments, as the armed conflict between Tehran and Tel Aviv intensifies.
According to Israel’s Channel Fourteen news outlet, both global powers are believed to be involved in the transfer of strategic weapons to Iran. However, there has been no official confirmation from either Beijing or Moscow regarding these allegations.
In a related development, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed full support for Iran last Saturday, emphasizing that diplomatic avenues to resolve Iran’s nuclear issue have yet to be fully explored.
Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reported that Iran has ordered thousands of tons of missile components from China, including ammonium perchlorate, a chemical capable of producing hundreds of ballistic missiles. The shipments are expected to arrive in Tehran within the coming months.
The company linked to the procurement is Pishgaman Tejarat Rafi Novin Co, which reportedly placed the order with Lion Commodities Holdings Ltd, a Hong Kong-based firm.
Following these developments, the United States imposed sanctions on June 6 against 10 individuals and 27 entities, including Hong Kong-based companies Hero Companion Limited, Plzcome Limited, and Kinlere Trading Limited, all of which are believed to be part of Iran’s financial network.
Iran’s retaliatory strikes on Israel since last Friday have resulted in at least 24 deaths and over 370 injuries, according to KosovaPress.
The current conflict escalated after Israel launched a large-scale air assault targeting Iranian military and nuclear facilities, prompting waves of missile and drone attacks from Iran in response.
