KUALA LUMPUR: Erma Fatima, a Malaysian producer and director, expressed regret to Singaporeans for her recent remarks made about Sarah Yasmine, the actor Aliff Aziz’s “illicit lover.” The remarks were viewed as having the potential to spark a conflict between the two adjacent nations.

The 56-year-old performer, whose true name is Fatimah Rahmad Ali, was unwavering in her belief that Sarah was wrong to do since it damaged the reputation of women and the local entertainment sector.

“A single rotten fruit shouldn’t ruin the entire harvest. I acknowledge that my comment may not satisfy everyone.

“I apologies if I have offended Singaporeans, but I stand by my position that this woman’s (Sarah Yasmine) actions have sullied the dignity of artistes and the dignity of women,” she stated today in a Harian Metro article.

Last night, Erma apologized via a live video broadcast on her Instagram (IG) account, which was read by host Roslan Shah, a Singaporean.

She said that her attorney had forbidden her from making any direct remarks about the matter.

“I don’t hate people from Singapore. The manner in which this woman has disparaged individuals unrelated to Aliff’s case is what bothers me.

“I have no motive to cultivate enmity with Singaporeans. I brought Datuk Aaron Aziz and Datuk Adi Putra into this field, and due of their good behavior, they have been highly received’, the woman remarked.

According to earlier reports, Erma instructed Sarah to return home when the Singaporean started stirring up a story around Aliff that included the names of other local celebrities.

The community has been talking about Sarah’s attention-grabbing antics, which included posting several purported screenshots of talks between actress Ruhainies and Aliff. As a result, different people have denied any involvement in the matter.
