‘I don’t have a dream wedding, but I have a dream wife’ – Syed Saddiq’s Romantic Words for Bella

KUALA LUMPUR: “I don’t have a dream wedding, but I have a dream wife”…

That was the romantic portrayal by Muar Member of Parliament, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, regarding his marriage to famous singer and actress, Bella Astillah, which is scheduled to take place on October 10.

Syed Saddiq said, for him, the most important thing is not the grandeur or the concept of the event, but rather being able to share love and life with the woman he considers his dream wife.

“I don’t have a dream wedding, but I have a dream wife. That is the most important thing.

“In terms of wedding preparations, I do give flexibility or full autonomy. What matters is getting married,” he said when met after the MeleTOP programme at the Asia Broadcasting Centre, Bukit Jalil, here on Tuesday night.

The former Youth and Sports Minister also admitted that he cannot wait for his wedding day with Bella, whose real name is Dayang Ara Nabellah Awang Astillah.

“Honestly, I don’t think this is a very big secret because the planning has been done together with family and close friends.

“It’s just that when such news is shared, it becomes easier for us to share with friends who may not have had the opportunity to meet us. I feel relieved and cannot wait for our wedding day,” he said.

Syed Saddiq said the wedding reception is also planned to be held in Muar and Sabah to enable more family, friends and the public to celebrate their happy day together.

“What’s more important is for us to celebrate with the public as a whole. That is why we also plan to hold it in Muar and Sabah so that we can involve as many people as possible,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bella described Syed Saddiq’s simple and flexible personality in making decisions as helping to smooth their wedding preparations.

“Alhamdulillah, actually there are no ‘disagreement’ issues in terms of wedding preparations because YB (Syed Saddiq) is very simple and flexible. He said anything that is easy and does not trouble me. So Bella feels relieved about that,” she said.

The singer of the song Akhirnya Kamu said both families are also happy and cannot wait for their happy day, besides stressing that the blessings of the family are a priority in their union.

“Bella believes YB (Syed Saddiq) is a very family-oriented person. For Bella, it is very important for us to manage this marriage with the blessings of our parents.

“Alhamdulillah, both families are all happy and cooperating with each other for the wedding preparations,” she said.

Regarding the scale of the event, Bella informed that they have plans to hold other, larger events including celebrating with fans and friends, but the wedding ceremony will take place in a simple setting.

She said, the decision to celebrate with more guests was made because both of them have large circles of family and friends.

Meanwhile, Bella explained that their wedding preparations have now reached 60 percent, while the theme of the wedding reception will be announced later.

Earlier, the couple announced that they will be getting married on October 10 at Menara Merdeka Maybank, which is the second tallest building in the world.

Syed Saddiq and Bella got engaged on March 28.
