PM says meetings with UAE companies will improve trade and investment and build ties between the two countries

On Monday (Jan. 13), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met with Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the Ruler of Dubai and vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

 

The palace known as Za’abeel hosted the meeting.

During the meeting, the two leaders talked about ways to strengthen ties between their countries and look for business possibilities in areas like renewable energy, food and energy security, AI, data centers, and other issues that affect both countries on a global and regional level.

Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz and Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir were with the Prime Minister during the meeting. They were in charge of investment, trade, and industry.

“We talked about new and existing investments during the meeting with Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) of Mubadala,” he said.
Anwar also mentioned that they discussed investing in green energy projects during their meeting with Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar.

He said, “We hope that the positive investment momentum from these meetings will continue to grow, helped by the trust and commitment of the industry players and major UAE companies.”
