Proposal for allowance for Form 6 students to be included in Budget 2025, said Fadhlina

KLUANG: Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek stated that the proposal for an allowance for Form 6 students will be included in the Budget 2025, which will be presented in Parliament this October.

According to Bernama, she said the Ministry of Education (MOE) is continuously advocating for the welfare of Form 6 students to ensure they receive the education they deserve.

“We will present this allocation in the Budget 2025. Whether it is approved or not, we will ‘fight’ for all the children. Additionally, we are looking into other matters, such as expanding the Federal Scholarship.

“Previously, it was only for the hardcore poor. We are requesting that it be expanded to include other levels so that more children can benefit,” she said during a Q&A session with the local community at the Inspirasi Malaysia (IM) Program at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tengku Aris Bendahara today.

Also present was Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Previously, Fadhlina mentioned that her office is detailing the proposal for this allowance, which is part of an effort to revamp Form 6 education in the country, as well as to ensure its quality is expanded and enhanced.

The IM Program, being held for the first time, serves as a platform for the local community to engage in Q&A sessions with ministers and provides an opportunity for the public to get to know the involved ministries through a more informal approach.
