Car engulfed in flames after falling into ditch, firefighters discover burned body

IPOH: A burned body was discovered in a car that erupted into flames after crashing into a ditch on Jalan Teluk Intan, Kuala Bikam in Teluk Intan on Monday (August 5).

According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department’s assistant director of operations, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the department received notification of the incident at 10:35 pm. Firefighters arrived nearly an hour later, approximately 25 km from the nearest fire station.

Sabarodzi stated that the victim’s identity is still unknown. “The incident involved a vehicle that skidded into a ditch, leading to 98% of the car being consumed by fire. One charred body was found,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (August 6).

The fire was extinguished by 12:16 am, and the body was recovered and handed over to the police for further investigation.
