73 SPM graduates from Kota Damansara received excellent student incentives
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 73 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) students from around the Kota Damansara area today received the SPM Outstanding Student Incentive 2023 with an allocation of over RM70,000.
According to RTM, Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk R. Ramanan said the recipients present were part of a total of 159 students from the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency who showed excellent performance in the examination.
“This initiative is a collaboration between the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary Service Center and the Bank Rakyat Foundation (YBR) involving an allocation of RM72,350 to appreciate the outstanding performance of students who have just received their SPM exam results.
“Of the 73 recipients, 25 managed to get 7A who each received incentives worth RM400, 25 got 8A (RM450), 19 got 9A (RM500), while three students got excellent results 10A received RM600 and one with 11A received RM700,” he said.

Ramanan, who is also the Member of Parliament for Sungai Buloh, said the incentives were given to motivate students to be more successful and he also expressed his appreciation to YBR for its support in improving the level of education of students in his area.
Meanwhile, when asked to comment on assistance to entrepreneurs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, he said the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) always provides different assistance according to needs.
“We have various programs that can bring them (entrepreneurs) back up.
“Apart from funding, we also provide in terms of training, we help them recover on their own from the difficulties experienced during the pandemic period,” he said.
Meanwhile, R. Ramanan said the Flood Mitigation Plan Project in several areas around Sungai Buloh had passed and was being implemented.
He said the project involved spending more than RM60 million.
“If we look in terms of infrastructure, there are two and three places, for example the flood mitigation project has been approved, while the road program is being repaired, there are some that we are doing. We have already done the flood mitigation project now,” said Ramanan.
