KUALA LUMPUR: The house that belonged to the late Datuk Sharifah Aini is now just a heap of debris.

HibGlam claims that the new owner of the double-story property in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, had it demolished in order to make way for a commercial development.

According to a security guard that the new owner has hired since the beginning of the year, the 20,000 square foot (1,858 square metre) house’s demolition started in May.

“This house was reportedly owned by a well-known singer before a real estate development company purchased it. I’m just aware of that,” said the person

The company’s identity and the amount provided to Aliff Omar Ali, the 42-year-old sole heir of Sharifah Aini, were unknown to the family’s close associate.

A close friend of the late National Songbird (Biduanita Negara) was cited as saying that all of her personal belongings, particularly those associated with her singing profession, had already been relocated and stored in another location.

“After the property was up for sale for three years, all those goods, as far as I know, had been safely removed from there. Maybe during the epidemic in 2020.”

It was also stated that at that period, the larger things, including furniture, had been sold to friends and family.

According to the story, Aliff sold the house because, in addition to being too expensive to maintain, it was too big for his family of five.

But after his mother passed away on July 5, 2014, from complications related to her pulmonary fibrosis, he remained there for a few years.

Aliff sent NST a brief note that said, “Even though I’m sad about selling the house, I think it was the right decision.”Now that the issue has been resolved, I hope that everyone will respect my choice.

“I thank all who still think of my late mother and have shown concern.”

Four years after Sharifah Aini’s death, according to some sources, the enormous house was for sale for RM8 million.

The mansion had a fish pond, five living rooms, two kitchens, nine bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a library, and a maid’s chamber back in the day.

Additionally, the home featured a walk-in wardrobe that was reportedly designed to resemble an exhibition gallery.
