Sarawak is rising to become a new economic giant, said Anwar

KUCHING: Political stability and clear policy by Sarawak’s leadership allowed the region to rise as a new economic giant in Malaysia.

Berita Harian reported that the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Sarawak showed a proud economic improvement and contributed to the tendency of foreign investors to come to the country.

Speaking at the Sarawak 2024 Gawai Dayak Celebration Dinner here today, he said the amount of investment recorded by the country last year was the highest in history.

“Apart from the states we know such as Penang, Selangor and Johor, now there is no coincidence that Sarawak is rising as an economic giant,” he said.

He said the Premier of Sarawak, Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and the state Cabinet led by him showed their commitment to ensure that the clear policy was truly understood and implemented.
