BATU PAHAT: Three male students have been arrested on suspicion of being linked to the case of a Form Four female student who was found dead in what is believed to be a murder at a school in Yong Peng near here on Saturday.

It is understood that one of the students will be brought to the Batu Pahat Magistrate’s Court on Sunday morning for a remand application to allow police to complete their investigation.

The three students, all aged 16, were arrested several hours after the body of the victim, Irene Sofiya Mohd Khairool Faisal, 16, was found at about 5.30pm.

They are students at the same school as Irene Sofiya, who is believed to have been killed before being left in the school hall.

In the incident, the victim was found by her grandmother at the school after she realised that her granddaughter had not returned home after attending an additional class.
