PETALING JAYA: The Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA) is aiming to raise RM100,000 through the Pink Swing Charity Golf 2026 in conjunction with its 40th anniversary.

BCWA General Manager Sumitra Selvaraj said the funds would be used to finance various support services provided free of charge to breast cancer patients and families affected by the disease.

She said the tournament is being organised in collaboration with Templer Park Country Club as the main sponsoring partner and will bring together corporate figures, business leaders, professionals and members of the golfing community.

She said the event would not only provide networking opportunities but also encourage the public to contribute to a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that supports breast cancer patients.

“As an organisation that relies on public donations, we hope collaborations through programmes such as this will help ensure BCWA can continue its operations.

“Among the services we provide are hospital visits, information and peer support for newly diagnosed patients.

“We also provide post-mastectomy bras and silicone prostheses to those in the B40 income group who have undergone surgery, as well as breast health education and clinical examinations conducted by trained nurses for the public,” she said in a statement.

She said Templer Park Country Club is not only hosting the event but has also provided an opportunity for BCWA’s MURNI Mobile Clinic to offer breast cancer awareness and screening services to its employees.

“Early detection can save lives. When our partners not only help spread that message but also put it into practice among their own employees, it demonstrates the true impact of this event beyond the golf course,” she said.

Meanwhile, Templer Park Country Club Managing Director Datuk Manibalan Kutty said the club would donate RM1 to BCWA for every round of golf played throughout October.
