Hakim Danish Fights Back to Score Points at Misano

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian Moto3 rider Hakim Danish Ramli produced an impressive comeback, climbing 13 places from 25th on the grid to finish 12th in the San Marino Grand Prix (GP) at the Misano Circuit.

The AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSI rider had initially qualified 18th after clocking one minute 42.407 seconds in the second qualifying session (Q2), but a penalty forced him to start the race from 25th position.

The setback did not dampen Hakim Danish’s determination as the Malaysian made a strong start and worked his way up the field throughout the 20-lap race.

Hakim Danish eventually crossed the finish line in 12th place, 22.335 seconds behind race winner Maximo Quiles.

His charge from 25th was particularly impressive as the leading group began to spread out during the race, making it increasingly difficult for him to close the gap on the riders ahead.

The 12th-place finish also earned the Malaysian four valuable World Championship points after a challenging weekend at Misano.

Quiles claimed victory after beating David Almansa, who had to settle for second place, while Brian Uriarte completed the podium in third.

The result saw Hakim Danish continue to collect valuable points in his debut Moto3 World Championship season, having previously made headlines by securing his maiden victory at the Czech Republic GP in June.
